A glimpse into OCEAN, Volume 1, Issue 4 . . .

Dana Miller photographed this wave.

. . . a heavenly prelude leads into sound waves then shock waves, tears flow, the Lunch Bunch enjoys a daily feast, sea story songs sung by sea people ride upon waves and wind and spray with the crash onto rocky shores, moonbeams alight the beach, corals grow gardens of the abyss, and . . .

THE OCEAN'S LOVE -
Soft pearl clouds express their passion for the beauty of her liquid lips, moist and blue, by sifting sunrise through their billowy bodies. They blush royal skies attempting to mimic her sapphire eyes. The clouds swirl and shift, dancing the surface of her glittering body. She, the ocean, claps and swings her mighty curves, singing the memory of the moon's glow and beckoning day. The clouds horizon to kiss her hip, making love through breeze and crashing wave, they birth the sun, and the sun rises in worship of the ocean's love.
Janelle Segarra

The ocean is alive and always moving. It touches my soul with a luring passion for all that is possible. It is strong and wide open, creating a feeling of wholeness, of being, and of spirit. It is peace.
Chad Wolfe

To me the sea is a continual miracle;
The fishes that swim - the rocks - the motion of the waves - the ships, with men in them,
What stranger miracles are there?
Walt Whitman

SOUND WAVES - marine mammals depend upon hearing for their life. Human-produced sonar is deadly.

. . . of seaweeds - wonderful vegetables of the ocean - and with that, seeking the wild exception, looking into the underwater mystery and fascination with the underwater world, roughing it at the shore, having given myself over . . . and it's a good thing, ocean sprays, sea magic, and Spirit - a seagull soared and sailed upon the wind . . .

The Ocean is mystical. It is a place of worship. Waves crashing onto the shore are the choir. All beings living there - the fish, the dolphin, the birds, even the sand fiddler and the sea grass - are the Gods and Goddesses. The Ocean is the womb of our ancient Mother, our common ancestor and link with all life. The Ocean is intense and as holy, divine, and terrifying as Brahma and Shiva, the creator and the destroyer.
Cheryl Gray-McDonald

We need the oneness. I you don't know what I mean, go to the shore and don't think. Be conscious and aware but not deliberate.
Deia Gould

. . . just take the tumble, and come back up again, gasping, laughing, floating, wet, and loving.
Larch Hanson, Maine Seaweed Company

. . . beyond the burden of memory and judgment lies the ocean of universal consciousness. We are as ripples in this vast ocean, and we have access to the totality of its infinite knowledge.
Deepak Chopra, The Return of the Merlin

. . . with a'lul'quoy, all about the world's ocean, how deep is the ocean?, what were we thinking?, hot and cold, naturally . . . and have you ever . . . answering the call, and a moondance in the moonlight.

Is it the serene wildness, or wild serenity? The fullness? The timelessness of the incoming and outgoing tide? The rhythm, whether gentle or raging, raw and full, flows within the demands of nature. Its melodies and staccatos, crescendos and decrescendos are of the harmony we are all part of, consciously or unconsciously.

Here we forget the constraints of society. Freedom and adventure beckon. Reality is more keenly felt, subtley hinted or sharply perceived with a wide awakening.

As water seeks water, we seek water. Lured to the edge, it is here where fathoms touch our senses, our hearts, and our souls - lightly, deeply, for the moment, with a whisper of forever.

The vast expanse speaks to me of forever . . . and for the moment, of escape and freedom.
David Cohn

. . . desire, faith, trust, soul energy, and spiritual transcendence intermingling and flowing together into a standing wave on the river of our lives . . .
Dana Miller

A glimpse into OCEAN, Volume 1, Issue 1 . . .
ocean1.1.jpg

. . . OCEAN's premier issue begins its celebration and protection with water and wind, salt and sand; $20.9 trillion in the ocean; fish out of water; water, water everywhere; seawild; vibration; the staggering, stunning rapidity of ice melt and global warming; high and low tides; the power of water; bursting bubbles of modern living; a fish swiming with me; and a week of waves.

Syndoche: the whole being represented by the part.

I pass like night, from land to land,
I have strange power of speech;
That moment that his face I see,
I know the man that must hear me;
To him my tale I teach.

He went like one that hath been stunned,
And is of sense forlorn.
A sadder and a wiser man,
He rose the morrow morn.

The Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge

Joyful Poignance: the ability to be buoyantly joyful while remaining aware of the sadness, injustices, ancient wounds, and future fears that form the challenges in an examined life.
Alka Bhargava
